What do I need to do to get the property ready for the shoot?

A little preparation goes a long way toward making sure your property looks its best in photos. We recommend having the property fully photo-ready before the photographer arrives so they can focus on capturing great images.

Pre-Shoot Checklist

Before the photographer arrives, we recommend:

  • Declutter each room and remove unnecessary items from countertops, tables, floors, and other visible surfaces.
  • Put away personal items such as toys, clothing, toiletries, and paperwork.
  • Clean and tidy the property, including kitchens and bathrooms.
  • Make the beds and straighten bedding and pillows.
  • Open blinds and curtains to let in as much natural light as possible.
  • Turn on all interior lights and replace any burned-out bulbs.
  • Hide trash cans and remove other items that may distract from the property.
  • Clear kitchen and bathroom countertops as much as possible.
  • Tidy outdoor areas, including patios, decks, yards, and pools.
  • Remove vehicles from the driveway and move them away from the front of the property when possible.
  • Put away hoses, gardening tools, pet supplies, and other outdoor items.
  • Make sure pets are secured and out of the way during the shoot.
  • Turn off ceiling fans before the photographer arrives.
  • Complete any last-minute cleaning or touch-ups before the appointment.
  • Remove any for sale signs as the MLS may not allow these to show in the photos.

Will the photographer move things around?

Our photographers are not required to move or rearrange items around the property. For the best results, please make sure everything is photo-ready before the photographer arrives.

A well-prepared property allows your photographer to spend more time capturing the listing rather than preparing it for the shoot.
